Monastic Prayer
"Pray unceasingly" 1 Th 5:17
Our life as monks, is a life of prayer in community. The heart of our communal prayer life is the Divine Office with the holy sacrifice of the mass.
The heart of our private prayer is the practice of Lectio Divina: the prayerful reading of Scripture. In Lectio Divina, God's word nourishes and strengths us for our communal life.
Meditation comes in a variety of forms, but the end is the same, to deepen our union with God. Whether it's remembering a passage from Lectio or meditating in the Church, mindfulness of God is sustained.
